#Childhood memories
Good morning, everyone!
Today day, I would like to tell you a story about my childhood memories. My name’s Davin. I was born in Kandal Province. I have two sisters and one brother. When I was young, I lived with grandpa and grand ma because my parents lived and worked in Phnom Penh. So that why I felt closed to my grandparents than my parents. It was a difficult time but I felt happy and comfortable staying with my grandparents because they loved and took care of me and my siblings.
I remembered that every day when came back from school, I saw a lot of
foods that my grandparents prepared for us. My favorite food is tofu and sausage. As
my favorite food, they often cooked them for me.
My grandma did not go to school, so she couldn’t read or write. Despite
that, she knew about Khmer alphabets and taught me about them. After I learned the
Khmer alphabets helped me develop my curiosity about language and eventually
led me to become a good reader. My grandma also taught me how to save money. I
learn from that I knew how to save and spend money very well. I could buy anything
I wanted from my savings and made me proud of myself.
For my grandpa, he was a generous and kind person to all people, even to
those who hurt him before. He always forgave others. He taught me how to
forgive and do good to others. Forgive and forget their mistakes, but learn the
lessons.
Childhood never comes back even if I wish. But it was the golden time for me. As I reflect on my time with my grandparents, I am filled with gratitude for the love they instilled in me. Even I cannot remember the detail of my childhood, I think those were good memories which I am grateful for. All those memories remind me to have hopes and think positively. Good or bad memories teach us something. Thanks for what’s I have been through.
Thank you so much for your attention.
